Operation Blessing International - Living Water Projects: Ghana
  • Dedication: July 28, 2015
  • Village: Korleynya, Suhum Municipal Assembly, Eastern Region
  • Plaque Inscription: Sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. John Jones,
Sponsored by small beginnings BIG RESULTS
  • Approximate population of the village: 250
  • Number of beneficiaries of this project: 200
  • Closest water source before this project: The village has depended on shallow wells and streams. Some of the residents also harvest rain water for their use.
Descripton of the Project: A new well was constructed in the village. The inside of the well was cemented with concrete and a 38-foot pipe with a new Nira pump was provided to dispense the water.

Descripton of the village & people:  The inhabitants of Korleynya are peasant farmers who grow cocoa, cassava, plantain, plam nuts, and other crops. The women of the village also engage in the trade of palm oil and palm kennel oil. The people live in clay cement block houses which are well built and roofed with zinc. Their roads are not tarred, which makes travel difficult. There are churches and a school in the village, but they have no clinic in the community. The village does have electricity.
Description of the well dedication:  There were about 25 people in attendance at the well dedication ceremony. A simple Gospel presentation was made to tell the people of the love of God. The message was for them to have a close relationship with Jesus Christ. They were told that as many as will receive the salvation message of Jesus Christ shall be saved from their sins. After the presentation, those who saw the need to have Jesus as their Lord and personal Savior were prayed for and asked to join any Bible believing Church in the community.

Hygiene Lecture: After the dedication, Pastor Nadabo gave a hygiene lecture for those present at the well site. He talked to them about the need to take good care of the well and its environment. They were also encouraged to store their drinking water in a clean container at home after fetching from the bore well. They were all happy and excited about the information.

Outreach and number of salvations: 6
