  • Village: Atwedwerede, Akuapem North Assembly District, Eastern Region
  • Plaque Inscription: Sponsored by small beginnings BIG RESULTS
In Memory of Cordell Patrick, a gift from her family, commissioned December 6, 2011
  • Approximate population of the village: 455
  • Number of beneficiaries of this project: 455
  • Closest water source before this project: The villagers had to walk about 3 km (1.9 mi) to another part of town to fetch water for their daily use.
Descripton of the village & people: Atwetwerede is an old village where peasant vegetable farmers plant crops like maize (corn) and cassava. Their houses are built of mud bricks and roofed with zinc. The road to the village from the main road is in terrible condition. They have three churches available for the people to attend. The children in this village walk about 6 km (3.7 mi)to school in another part of the district.

Description of the project: The Living Water well was installed in a central location to give the villagers easy access to the hand pump. A concrete floor was constructed surrounding the well to provide the villagers with a designated washing station.
Oheneku William, Chief of the Village: "We went through a lot of stress and hardship during the dry season because we had to walk long distances in search of water. Thank you for coming to our aid. The only thing we need in our village is a school. We thank you for your gift and hope, in the future, that you will be able to build our children a school."
Ahorsu Christian, Assemblyman: "I am grateful for this well that was drilled on our behalf. Our people are relieved from carrying water from the streams. Thank you and we hope that God will richly bless you."
Descripton of the well dedication: There was a presentation of the Gospel after which a challenge was given to the people to accept and live for the Lord. Those who made the decision were prayed for and advised to fellowship with any Bible believing church of their choice. About 41 people attended the ceremoney. 18 people made decisions for the Lord.
