  • Village: Akorabo School Zongo, Suhum Kraboa Coaltar District, Eastern Region
  • Plaque Inscription: Sponsored by small beginnings BIG RESULTS
In Memory of Cordell Patrick, a gift from her family, commissioned November 3, 2011
  • Approximate population of the village: 1,000
  • Number of beneficiaries of this project: 1,000
  • Closest water source before this project: The students, staff, and villagers had to walk about 2 km (1.25 mi) to fetch water from the main town.
Descripton of the village & people: Akorabo School was built to serve the people in the community, but the school is too small for the number of students in the community. Some classes are taught under trees. The people live in houses built of mud brick and roofed with zinc. Most of the villagers work as farmers. There are churches and mosques in the community available to the people.

Description of the project: A new well was constructed and provided with a hand pump to give the vilagers easy access to the water.
Annas Issan, a Chairman of the school: "On behalf of the staff and students, I wish to express our profound gratitude to Ms. Mattie L. Kinard for providing us with a well. We thank you very much. God bless you."
Narteh Forson, Head Teacher: "I give my thanks and we promise to take proper care of this new well. This well will help us to have potable drinking water in the school. Again, thank you so much."
Descripton of the well dedication: A presentation of the Gospel was given to the villagers during the dedication ceremony. They were asked to accept and live for the Lord. Those who made the decision were prayed for and advised to fellowship with any Bible believing church of their choice. About 100 people attended the ceremony. 89 people made decisions to live for the Lord.
